Red fire engulfs the land, scorching bright,
Strong wind that cuts through trees, scatters ash,
Tall grass devoured whole, blistered rash,
Large surf submerges all, lunar knight.
Loud hiss explodes into purple night,
Dull growl behind the clouds, mighty crash,
Long fork of light high above, blinding flash,
Deep boom shudders the ground, turns it white.
Rain floods the plains as the heavens part,
Banks stretched as stream thunders past,
Reeds dragged beneath the icy water’s cloak,
Bent branch engrained in earth, jagged dart,
A leaf spirals through air, lightly rests
on fast river, which snakes round swollen oak.
